Abstract
Sustainable tourism is an important aspect of tourism destination development that considers the balance between economic, social, and environmental benefits. This research applies the Partitioning Around Method (PAM) as a clustering technique to group tourists based on their characteristics and preferences. With a case study in Cuku Nyinyi Mangrove forest tourism, this research aims to identify visitor segments, analyze the potential of local resources, and design more effective destination development strategies. The research methodology involved data collection through visitor surveys, interviews with tourism managers, as well as direct observation of local facilities and resources. The data obtained was analyzed using the PAM method to generate different groups of tourists based on the number of visits and activities performed. The results show that the PAM method is able to provide a clear segmentation of tourists, so that managers can optimize services and promotional strategies according to market needs.
